Debilitating Foe

Eyes so wide–they could almost fall out,

Rolling down a snowy trail,

You pile–turning with such vigor.

Your icy soul trembling from head to toe:

As you had proposed that the morning’s call

Should bring a grounded bean to lips,

Sucking its force–until it shrivels to a pulp.

You interfere too heavily,

Chattering continues relentlessly harsh

Upon a written piece–cheeks lit aflame.

Your disastrous being strikes:

As pages become repetitively reviewed,

Knowledgeable, but blanking on view,

Beating the mind senselessly–please, let it rest.

Bouncing joints,

Clicking instruments,

Bleeding ends,

Bated breaths,

Clenched jaws,

Bounded seals,

Double check,

Triple check–

In peace, tranquil and responseless,

Drying violent weeps who wailed

Atop of seas–high expectations in hand.

Your features softening kindly:

As you exhale, “you are right,

Everything is real–you are here

And you placed that there.”

Crazily driven–irrational fear takes precedent,

Perfecting the wrong that was always right,

While jitters persist–diminishing beautiful pieces.

Your misfit mind twitching unchanged:

As you rock me to sleep,

Rather restless or subdued by the future,

Blowing out its tightness–a bubble popped above.
