The Too-Active Mind:
Unsaid words,
And un-had conversations
Chase sleep away
Despite my body’s yearns
For the sweet oblivion of unconsciousness.
I let the conversations play out in my mind,
Though it is not enough
For the greedy letters strung together
As they want to be freed,
Written or spoken
Left in the in-between of seen and heard.
Tossing and turning,
Trying to shake myself of the words
Floating aimlessly,
An arrow looking for a target
Wanting to be acknowledged,
Refusing to go unnoticed.
