Her eyes were closed, she fell asleep beside me

Our friends are all at home they left in such a rush

And I wish they knew why I only come out to party

I let her rest, it’s late enough already

Recalling dreams is violence to their memory

But drifting feels so cruel when at night your left so lonely

And the white plaster wall becomes the shadow’s canvas

I feel my eyelids fall, the nightmares come back to haunt me

But at least the nightmares are an exercise in creativity

My mind can rest when picturing the eerie

And when the night shift comes I awaken from my stupor

Anxiety plagues us all, but it grips me so especially
